The Royal Oak, which was originally released in 1972, is of course one of Audemars Piguet‘s most progressive and iconic timepieces. In 1993, AP debuted the the bigger, sportier Royal Oak Offshore, which features a steel case, octagonal bezel and hexagonal screws. This year at Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève (SIHH), Audemars Piguet unveiled a re-edition of the Offshore. The new version takes the key elements from the original 1993 Royal Oak Offshore and gives them a modern facelift.
The dimension of the Offshore re-edition is 42 mm x 14.4 mm. Like the original, the pushers and crown are coated in a blue vulcanized rubber. Having 365 components overall including 59 jewels, the watch features a blue dial, a blue inner bezel, white gold covered hour-markers and Royal Oak, luminescent coated hands. Its power reserve is approximately 50 hours.
The Royal Oak Offshore re-edition is a boutique exclusive and retails for $27,000 USD.
