1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight

Manufactured by Porsche in early 1973, this original, matching-numbers, LHD, Carrera RS 2.7 was built to M471 Lightweight specification, finished in Light Yellow (code 626211) and fitted with limited-slip differential (220). It was supplied directly to Sonauto, Paris in May 1973.

Sonauto, being a wholly owned subsidiary of Porsche, entered competition as Ecurie Sonauto (Race Team) and ran a total of six different competition-prepared Porsche 911s as they became available from Porsche during the late 1960s and early 1970s: A 911R, 911 T/R, 911 ST, 911 2.7RS (911 360 1083), 911 2.8 RSR and 911 3.0 RS.

This Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight, with extensive period competition history, remarkably still retains its original numbers-matching Type 911/83 engine no: 6631045. Since 2013 the car has had extensive service work and set-up carried out by Maxted-Page & Prill and is now offered in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition.

This car was run in the Tour de France Automobile.
