1961 Maserati 3500 GT Vignale Spider

Maserati built just 242 examples of the 3500 GT Spyder, its first real production convertible which derived from the 3500 GT Coupe. For the open variant Vignale rather than Touring was entrusted with the styling and the wheelbase was shortened by 10cm which partially accounted for a small weight saving as well.

Available from 1959 until 1964, Maserati’s 3500 GT Vignale Spyder was the principal rival to Ferrari’s 250 GT Convertible and it remains one of the most stylish Italian conveyances of its era.
